| | | | | If Lance Armstrong keeps winning the Tour de France, the race might be renamed the "Tour de Lance." | For the last three years, the Tour de France has been owned by U.S. cyclist Lance Armstrong. So it's no surprise that Page 2 readers chose "Tour de Lance" as the nickname that best suits Armstrong.
In the latest case of The Berman Files, "Tour de Lance" (28.6 percent) beat out "The Postman" (21.2 percent) by nearly 500 ballots after more than 6,500 votes were cast from Wednesday to Thursday.
Nickname expert Chris Berman would have cast his vote for "Sir Lancelot," but it only earned 14.6 percent of the votes to finish third.
Rounding out the top five nicknames for Armstrong were "Only the Armstrong Survive" (12.3 percent) and "The Legend of Biker Lance" (10.9 percent).
Page 2 editors weren't as keen on the obvious "Tour de Lance," and opted instead for "The Postman" and "Backwards Glance Lance."
Thanks for voting, and check back next week for another edition of The Berman Files to affix a good nickname on athletes in desperate need of monikers.
