Lindros diagnosed with Grade II concussion

PHILADELPHIA -- Philadelphia Flyers star Eric Lindros cannot participate in contact drills for another two weeks after he was diagnosed with a Grade II concussion by his neurologist, putting Lindros' availablility for this postseason in severe doubt.

Dr. James Kelly made the concussion diagnosis by phone Thursday when Lindros reported that he suffered headaches for more than 15 minutes after a taking an accidental hit to the head in a skate with the Flyers' AHL team, the Phantoms. Lindros was preparing for a comeback bid from a concussion suffered during the regular season.
ESPN's Al Morganti reported that a medical report was sent to the Flyers on Friday, but in the aftermath of the five-overtimevictory over the Pittsburgh early that morning, general manager Bob Clarke had not read it.
Flyers team physician Gary Dorshimer said he informed Clarke in a casual conversation, but Clarke said before Sunday's game that he had no knowledge of the concussion diagnosis.
Lindros is receiving acupuncture treatment in Toronto, where he lives in the offseason and will visit Kelly in Chicago on Wednesday.
