SAN JOSE, California (Ticker) -- Vincent Damphousse set up goals by Tony Granato and Niklas Sundstrom as the San Jose Sharks posted a 2-1 exhibition victory over the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim.

Granato helped the Sharks strike first with 4:23 left in the opening period. Jeff Friesen skated around the net and fed in front to Granato, who beat goaltender Jean-Sebastien Giguere with a wrist shot.

San Jose was just 1-for-7 on the power play, but Sundstrom tallied with the extra man for a two-goal cushion. He took a pass just outside the crease from Damphousse and wristed it past Giguere four minutes into the second period.

Acquired from Calgary in the offseason, Giguere made 16 saves in two periods before giving way to Gregg Naumenko.

Chris O'Sullivan scored an unassisted tally late in the third period for the Ducks, who dropped their preseason opener.

Mikka Kiprusoff went the distance and made 25 saves for the Sharks, who killed all four power plays.
