The lowdown
2000-01 record: 14-14; 5-13 in Pac-10 (t6th)
Final Ranking: NR
Postseason: None.
Three Questions for 2001-02
1. Can anyone of the four forwards -- Matt Short, Robert Johnson, Ian Crosswhite or Brian Helquist -- come and contribute immediately? Replacing Bryan Bracey's experience in the lane will be the hardest piece to find in the Ducks' starting lineup.
2. Can Fred Jones become the go-to player? Will it be Luke Ridnour or Luke Jackson? Who can the Ducks count on in crunch time?
3. Will the Ducks have to go small? Can Ernie Kent use the quickness to with his guards to his advantage in a Pac-10 with a majority of unproven big men this season?
Andy Katz's Scenarios
Best case: Oregon's guards cause enough fits for the Ducks to be back in the middle of the pack and on the verge of an NIT berth.
Worst case: Oregon can't get the necessary frontcourt player to hold its own and falls to the bottom five in the league and out of the postseason.
