CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (AP) _ Eddie Jones scored 12 of his 34 points in the fourth quarter Friday night and the Charlotte Hornets beat the Chicago Bulls 103-89 in the final exhibition game for both teams. The Hornets will play host the Orlando Magic as the NBA regular season begins Tuesday, while the Bulls open their season the following night at home against the New York Knicks. Jones was 13-of-22 from the field, including 5-for-7 from 3-point range. Center Elden Campbell added 17 points as Charlotte (5-3), which shot 49.3 percent from the field. The Bulls (2-6), led by Elton Brand and Toni Kukoc with 17 points each, opened an early seven-point lead. The Hornets held Chicago to only 14 points in the second quarter and took a 44-42 halftime lead. The game remained close before Jones put the game away with his fourth-quarter outburst. Brand, the first overall pick in last June's NBA draft, also had seven rebounds. Anthony Mason added 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Hornets, who played without starting forward Derrick Coleman. The nine-year veteran was charged with drunken driving following an accident Wednesday. He didn't make the trip to Chapel Hill due to soreness and is questionable for the regular season opener. Coleman is due to meet with NBA officials in New York on Wednesday to discuss the incident. The DWI arrest was his third run-in with the law since joining the Hornets last Jan. 31.
