HOUSTON (AP) _ Keith Ginter hit his first major league homer and Jeff Bagwell and Lance Berkman hit consecutive home runs, leading Wade Miller and the Houston Astros over the Milwaukee Brewers 7-6 Saturday night.

Julio Lugo tripled, doubled, singled and walked for Houston.

Miller (6-6) gave up four runs in seven innings. He won for the first time since Sept. 8, striking out seven and walking three.

Octavio Dotel got two outs for his 16th save. He gave up Richie Sexson's RBI single.

Before the game, the Astros announced manager Larry Dierker would be back for the 2001 season. He guided Houston to three straight NL Central championships before this year's 71-90 disappointment.

Ginter, the Astros' minor league player of the year, singled home a run in the second inning for his first big league hit. He scored on Lugo's triple as Houston took a 3-0 lead.

Ginter homered on a 3-2 pitch from Jimmy Haynes (12-13) to lead off the sixth to give the Astros a 5-2 lead.

Bagwell led off the seventh with his 47th home run, connecting against Everett Stull. Three pitches later, Berkman hit his 21st homer.

The Brewers scored in the third on an RBI single by Luis Lopez. Milwaukee added a run in the fourth on a groundout by Jose Hernandez.

Berkman doubled in the fifth and scored on a single by Richard Hidalgo as the Astros increased their lead to 4-2. Haynes left for a pinch-hitter in the seventh.

Charlie Hayes added an RBI single in the Brewers and Raul Casanova hit a two-run double.

Notes: The Astros became the first professional sports franchise in the state of Texas to draw more than 3 million fans. The Astros drew their 27th sellout crowd of 42,161 to bring the season attendance total to 3,020,581. ... Brewers shortstop Jose Hernandez is 1-for-13 in his last three road games. ... The Astros have hit back-to-back homers 12 times this season.
