CuJo won the NHL's 2000 King Clancy Award for leadership qualities on and off the ice. He pays for a suite at the Air Canada Centre to be used by needy children in the CuJo's Kids Charity group.

Al Leiter

Leiter won the 2000 Roberto Clemente Award for his involvement in many civic causes. The Leiters Landing foundation, created by Al and his wife, helps needy children get better education and health care and it also assists other charities such as Meals-on-Wheels and the Starlight Foundation.

Carter was the first recipient of the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award last season for his work with inner-city school children and other community activities.

His numerous charitable works include involvement with Toys for Tots and Family Dynamics, a New York child abuse agency. He's also a member of the NHLPA goals and Dreams Advisory Board, which distributes hockey equipment to underprivileged inner-city children.
