HERSHEY, Pennsylvania (Ticker) -- Robert Lang scored two goals and assisted on two others as the Pittsburgh Penguins tallied five straight times between the first and second periods in a 7-5 victory over the Colorado Avalanche.

Lang's power-play tally at the 14-minute mark of the opening period ignited the five-goal explosion and drew the Penguins within 3-2. He scored 2:26 into the second, assisted on Robert Dome's goal just over two minutes later and on Rob Brown's power-play marker at 8:42.

John Slaney had a goal and an assist and Jaromir Jagr set up three scores for Pittsburgh, which won for the first time in four preseason games (1-3).

Adam Deadmarsh scored a goal and set up another for the Avalanche, who dropped to 1-4.

Jean-Sebastien Aubin allowed three goals on 15 shots over the first half of the game and Peter Skudra made 10 saves thereafter for Pittsburgh.

David Aebischer and Frederic Cassivi split the goaltending duties for Colorado with No. 1 netminder Patrick Roy still sidelined with a hip injury.

The game drew 5,975 fans to HersheyPark Arena, home of the American Hockey League's Hershey Bears.
