Nov. 10, 1999

I think the bye week was good for us. We had four really good days of practice Monday through Thursday and were able to get Friday, Saturday and Sunday off. It was a great thing for us because a lot of guys were able to get away from football and relax and spend some time with family and friends. It was interesting because you get only a few chances to watch college football throughout the year and I had a chance to watch a few games on Saturday. It was just a nice weekend off to relax and have some fun.

	The 6-foot-4, 210-pound Farmer is a Biletnikoff Award candidate.

We definitely have our work cut out for us this week against Washington. The Huskies have a tough defense with big guys like Lester Towns and Jabari Issa. They have a bunch of big guys on the defensive line so it's going to be a difficult game for our offensive line. Hopefully, we can do some things to mix it up a little bit and maybe catch them off guard. It's really going to be another tough test for us.

Their offense has Marques Tuiasosopo, who is probably the best player in the Pac-10 right now. He's making a lot of plays and doing a lot of things. Anyone who can throw for 300 yards and run for 200 in a single game is just a phenomenal performer. He's been unbelievable and I think he's the guy to stop right now. Hopefully, we can do some things to knock them off this week and play the role of spoiler.

Coming toward the end of my career here, I think I'm going to miss UCLA more than some of the other guys because it has been my home for five years now. Playing two sports, I've basically been on campus every day for five years. I think back to high school and it seems like so long ago.

I consider UCLA home and it's going to be really tough to leave -- I've grown up so much here. I came here as a naive little boy but I think I've learned some things being here, and it has just been the best experience ever. There are just a lot of great memories here and I'll take those wherever I go.
