SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) _ Jay Canizaro homered twice and drove in four runs as the San Francisco Giants defeated the Milwaukee Brewers 12-8 Friday. Marvin Benard and Ramon Martinez also homered for the Giants, just 2-3 this spring. Winner Mike Riley pitched a scoreless inning in relief of starter Mark Gardner, striking out three and walking two. Damon Hollins had three hits for the Brewers, including a three-run homer. Mark Loretta added two hits. Canizaro's two-run homer in the third off loser Jamie Navarro tied the game at 2. He added a two-run homer in a five-run fourth. ``I'm not a power hitter by any means. I'm a line-drive hitter,'' said Canizaro, in a battle for a utility spot on the 25-man roster. ``I get into trouble when I try to do that.'' Navarro allowed seven runs _ two earned _ and seven hits in 3 2-3 innings. He walked two and gave up three homers. Benard also hit his home run in the fourth. Martinez, who replaced Canizaro in the batting order, hit a three-run homer in the fifth off Curtis Leskanic. Kevin Barber singled home a run and Henry Blanco added a sacrifice fly to give Milwaukee a 2-0 lead in the second. Milwaukee scored five runs in the ninth, highlighted by Hollins' homer against John Johnstone. Bobby Hughes also drove in a run.
