PLAYER OF THE WEEK: T.J. Ford, Texas
Sophomore point guard T.J. Ford spearheaded a great comeback as the Longhorns rallied from 15 points down to win at Norman, Oklahoma. It isn't easy to win at Lloyd Noble Center, where the Sooners had a 37-game win streak snapped.
Ford made great plays on the road in a hostile environment. He simply makes his team better with his presence. Ford can come through with clutch shots, as he did on Saturday.
COACH OF THE WEEK: Skip Prosser, Wake Forest
Prosser led the Demon Deacons to their first ACC regular-season championship since 1962. Wake Forest was picked sixth in the preseason poll, a sign of the magic Prosser has worked this season.
His Demon Deacons beat North Carolina and N.C. State (the latter in Raleigh) to sew up the regular-season crown.
TEAM OF THE WEEK: Kentucky
Coach Tubby Smith's Wildcats finished the regular season on a 20-game win streak, going through the SEC schedule with a perfect record. Wow, that's an incredible feat, baby!
The Wildcats blew out Vanderbilt early in the week and followed up by beating the Gators in Florida. It isn't easy to beat those Rowdy Reptiles!
DIAPER DANDY OF THE WEEK: Rashad McCants, North Carolina
Freshman guard Rashad McCants came through big-time in an upset of Duke in the Dean Dome. After struggling earlier this season against the Blue Devils, McCants had 26 points on Sunday, coming through with a number of key baskets to propel coach Matt Doherty's Tar Heels to the victory at home.
SHOCK OF THE WEEK: Penn State over Indiana
The Nittany Lions came into Saturday's game with a 1-14 record in Big Ten play. But coach Mike Davis' Hoosiers left Happy Valley not so happy. It was a Shock City loss for IU, though the Hoosiers get another crack at coach Jerry Dunn's team in the first round of the Big Ten tournament.
