BOX SCORE
OAKLAND, California (Ticker) -- Gary Suter scored the tying goal with 32 seconds left in the third period and Mike Ricci won it 3:35 into overtime as the San Jose Sharks rallied for a 3-2 exhibition victory over the Los Angeles Kings. Suter took a wrist shot from the top of the slot that dribbled in off goaltender Jamie Storr's left skate. Ricci ended a mean-spirited game by beating Storr from 30 feet off a drop pass from Patrick Marleau. Sharks right wing Owen Nolan was ejected after receiving a charging major six minutes into the second period. He leveled Jaroslav Modry with a hit that left the Kings defenseman with a concussion. Shawn Heins of San Jose and Dion Darling of Los Angeles got misconducts after fighting in the first period, and Sharks winger Jeff Friesen was hit with a misconduct in the second after tangling with Len Barrie. Mike Vernon made 27 saves and Niklas Sundstrom scored the other goal for San Jose (3-0-3), one of three unbeaten teams in the preseason. Vladimir Tsyplakov and Bill Huard tallied for the Kings, who fell to 3-2-1.
