PORTLAND, Oregon (Ticker) -- Monica Maxwell scored all 11 of her points after halftime as the Indiana Fever found the range in the second half and pulled away for a 73-58 victory over the Portland Fire.

Kara Wolters scored 14 points and Rita Williams added 11 for the Fever, who snapped a four-game road losing streak.

Maxwell was shut out in the first half, which ended in a 34-34 tie. But she came alive after the break, making 3-of-5 shots -- all from behind the arc. She also finished with seven assists, six rebounds and four blocks.

Maxwell's big second half spurred her teammates, who shot 57 percent (16-of-28) from the field after halftime while holding the Fire to just 25 percent (7-of-28).

Portland guard Sophia Witherspoon came in averaging 17.2 points per game, but was held to 10 on 4-of-17 shooting. She had just two points in the second half, missing 7-of-8 shots.

Vanessa Nygaard had 17 points and nine rebounds and Michelle Marciniak poured in 13 points for the Fire, who trailed by as many as 24 points and shot under 36 percent (21-of-59).

The Fire are 1-1 on their five-game homestand and 4-8 at the Rose Garden this season.

The Fever opened the second half with a 15-3 burst to take the lead for good against their expansion sister. Maxwell made a pair of 3-pointers and Wolters sank two baskets before a free throw by Danielle McCulley made it 49-37 with 12:56 remaining.

The Fire missed nine of their first 10 shots of the second half. After Indiana's burst, Portland trailed by at least 10 points thereafter and by as much as 65-41 with 5 1/2 minutes to go.

McCulley and Alicia Thompson scored nine points each for the Fever, who had just one offensive rebound but nevertheless improved to 4-9 on the road.
