COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- Brian McBride headed in two corner kicks within five minutes as the Columbus Crew beat the Miami Fusion 2-1 in a Major League Soccer game Sunday. McBride got up over defenders to head in a corner from the right side by Robert Warzycha in the 76th minute. McBride put the ball inside the far post past Fusion goalie Jeff Cassar from 14 yards out. Warzycha found McBride on a corner kick from the left side in the 81st minute. This time Cassar came off his line, but McBride beat him to the ball and headed it into an open net from 10 yards out. McBride recently signed a new contract that will keep him with the Crew through the 2002 season. The Fusion took a 1-0 lead just before halftime after midfielder Jeff Bilyk stole the ball from Crew defender Todd Yeagley and passed to Eric Wynalda. Wynalda dribbled up the right sideline, broke inside and scored on a shot from 23 yards to beat goalie Mark Dougherty in the 43rd minute. Dougherty had seven saves and Cassar none. Columbus is 19-11 and Miami is 11-19. | ALSO SEE Soccer Scoreboard RECAPS Columbus 2 Miami 1
