ESPN's Chris Berman has been giving nicknames to professional athletes for the past 22 years. But, as Berman's former broadcast partner Jerry "Rolls" Reuss once said, "Nicknames are a game everyone can play."

Joe Sakic is a finalist for the Hart Trophy as the NHL's MVP. |
With that in mind, Page 2 is opening up another case for The Berman Files. We're out to solve the cases of star athletes who have yet to be given a catchy nickname, traditional or Bermanesque style, but we're going to need your help.
Each week on Page 2, we'll pinpoint an athlete in desperate need of a moniker. We'll then take the best suggestions from our readers and run a poll to officially crown the best nickname. Heck, Berman himself will occasionally stop by and pick out the nickname that he likes best.
Our latest case is Colorado Avalanche star center Joe Sakic. The soft-spoken Hart Trophy finalist lets his performance on the ice do the talking, but his wicked wrist shot and consistent play over the past 13 seasons prove he deserves a nickname out of the ordinary.
Anyway, send us your suggestion for what that nickname should be in the space below. Be sure to include your name and hometown, or we'll ignore you. Then, check back Thursday, when we'll run the best of our readers' suggestions along with a poll to determine your choice for a nickname for Sakic. Then we'll reveal the winning nickname Friday.
