SUNRISE, Fla. (AP) _ Pavel Bure scored three goals and added an assist as the Florida Panthers defeated the Carolina Hurricanes 4-2 in a preseason game Wednesday night.

Jaroslav Spacek had a goal and a pair of assists for Florida, and rookie Denis Shvidki added two assists.

It was Florida's second victory in as many nights against Carolina. The Panthers had an eight-game preseason winless streak prior to Tuesday's 5-0 win over the Hurricanes in Fort Myers, Fla.

Bure, who led the NHL with 58 goals last season, poked his second goal _ the game-winner at 5:41 of the third _ just to the left side of the crease after Spacek sent the puck toward the net from the blue line. Bure added an empty-netter with seven seconds left in the game.

Spacek tied the game at 2 when he took Bure's pass from the high slot and scored as the puck bounded off Jean-Marc Pelletier's glove.

Niclas Wallin ended the Panthers' streak of 23 consecutive penalties killed when he scored on the power play 2:38 into the third.

Down 1-0 after one period, the Panthers tied the game when Bure sent a blast from the left circle through Pelletier's legs and into the right corner at 2:28 of the second.

Trevor Kidd, who is coming off an injury-marred season, looked strong in goal for Florida. He made some tough saves early on and didn't allow a goal during a 68-second two-man advantage in the second period. He finished with 30 saves to earn the win.

Jaroslav Svoboda put Carolina up 1-0 at 15:56 of the first when he scored from the low slot off a pass from behind the net by Josef Vasicek.

During the game, the Panthers announced the signing of free-agent left wing Peter Worrell, their lone holdout, to a new three-year contract. General manager Bryan Murray wouldn't give specific numbers, but said the team came up from its last offer of $1.5 million for three years.
