BOX SCORE
CHICAGO (Ticker) -- Eric Daze scored twice in 2:06 span to cap a four-goal third period as the Chicago Blackhawks rallied for a 4-3 exhibition victory over the Dallas Stars. Ed Belfour blanked his former team for two periods as the Stars built a 3-0 lead. But the roof caved in on backup Mike Bales as Chicago scored three power-play goals over the final 18:14. Bryan McCabe started the comeback on the power play 1:46 into the third period, then set up Doug Gilmour's goal during a two-man advantage at 4:05. Daze tied it with 4:48 to play, putting a low wrist shot from the slot past Bales while both teams were down a man. Just over two minutes later, Daze took a pass from McCabe on his side of the red line, motored down the left wing, cut to the net and flipped a backhander over Bales' glove for his third preseason goal. Jere Lehtinen and Sergei Zubov scored in the opening period and Joe Nieuwendyk's goal 4:04 into the second gave Dallas a 3-0 cushion. But the Stars were outshot 14-3 in the third period and suffered their first loss in six exhibition games.
