CALGARY, Alberta (AP) -- Overtime and home ice has been a winning combination for the Calgary Flames. Valeri Bure scored twice, including the game-winner, as Calgary beat Nashville 5-4 on Friday night for the Flames' NHL-record ninth overtime victory of the season. Calgary improved its overtime record to 9-1-5, breaking the NHL record of eight victories set by Winnipeg in 1987-88. "It's one of those records that is impressive, but we don't want to win in overtime," said Bure, whose first-period goal was the 100th of his NHL career. "But I guess we'll take any win." The Flames have won seven straight at home and are 13-1-1 in their last 15 games at the Canadian Airlines Saddledome. Marc Savard set up the winning goal 3:06 into the extra session, breaking into the Nashville zone and passing across to Bure, who beat goalie Mike Dunham for the Calgary forward's 24th goal of the season. "They're very aggressive, they make some good plays, and they jump into the rush. They're very confident," Nashville coach Barry Trotz said of the Flames. "They definitely have it going on in overtime, that's twice they've done it to us now." Nashville appeared to take a 5-4 lead with 2:52 left in the third period when Cliff Ronning fired a shot from the high slot past Fred Brathwaite. But referee Bill McCreary ruled that Sergei Krivoskrasov interfered with Brathwaite. Jarome Iginla had a goal and two assists, and Bobby Dollas and Jeff Shantz also scored for Calgary. "We gave them too much room and they have some quick and skilled forwards," said Dunham, who finished with 36 saves. "We played stupid." Drake Berehowsky had two power-play goals for Nashville, and Vitali Yachmenev and Mark Mowers also scored. Iginla tied it at 4 at 10:27 of the third period. Savard made a perfect pass between his legs to Iginla, who was wide open in front of the goal. "That was a gift with a ribbon on it," Iginla said. "Marc and I were watching a hockey game earlier today and there was a nice little tap-in and I was kidding him that he hadn't given me one of those in a long time." Nashville took a 4-3 lead 1:44 into the third when Mowers fired a wrist shot from the top of the faceoff circle past Brathwaite. Mowers has two goals in two games since being recalled from Nashville of the International Hockey League.
