It was kind of a frustrating game against Oregon State (Williams scored 25 points on 8-for-18 shooting in a 68-51 road win Saturday). I started out pretty good, hit a few shots. Then I missed seven straight shots. But my coaches stayed on me and just told me to keep shooting and eventually my shot came back around. I did get to finish off the game on a good note (a 22-foot 3-pointer). The coaches put the ball in my hands. But I know I can shoot the basketball much better. The jumper is a little broken right now. We didn't go out or anything after the game. I went home and watched the men's Stanford and Arizona game, then I just went to sleep. It was kind of a long day, so I really didn't do too much. We have another tough road trip coming up (against Cal on Thursday and Stanford on Saturday). The Golden Bears are a lot better team than they were last year, so we're going to have to play a lot better against them than we have in the past.
Stanford is always tough, especially at home, but I'm really looking forward to playing against (Cardinal senior guard) Milena Flores because I think she forces me to play the best that I can. I can't make too many mistakes against her, and I'm looking forward to that challenge. Our team needs a challenge like that. Stanford is always a good team. I can't really say we're a better team than Stanford right now, so that will be a challenge once we see them. Before a game, I listen to music (mostly rap and R&B). Sometimes I listen to music that will get me pumped up, and other times I listen to music that will mellow me out. It all depends what my mood is that day. I also meditate. I go through everything in my mind as far as all the offensive and defensive schemes we want to accomplish. I just try to visualize what I want to do and what I want to achieve. I think I'm kind of weird. I never sleep. I go to bed at 2 a.m. and then wake up again at 6 a.m. Maybe that's why I'm so tired all the time. I can't take naps at all, either. I don't know why. At first I was kind of anticipating school, but now I'm like, "OK, I'm sick of it again." I kind of enjoy not doing much all day. |
