Obviously, Texas Tech is a team that has had its ups and downs, and goods and bads this season. But the Red Raiders have beaten some good teams, including Texas A&M and Colorado. They beat Colorado pretty badly.

We realize their potential and that this is a team that can do many things -- many things well. We're playing at their place, so that's a motivating factor for them. We realize that we'll have to be at our best as well. So we have to go down there and be ready to play.

There's not much truth to the rumor that (quarterback) Josh Heupel has a sore shoulder. It's no more sore than it would be after any game. It's as if a pitcher has been throwing for the entire season. It could be a little sore, but it isn't anything that's a factor. He's fine.

After further review of the tape of that Iowa State game, I was very pleased by the play of our offensive line and the tight ends, in general and with their blocking. Seth Littrell, as a back, made some good blocks. On several occasions our guys made good holes, and because of that we had a very solid game run-wise. We'reáproud of our backs. Theyádid a great jobáfinding creases.

Defensively, we played some excellent football in the first half. The guys were put in some tough situations after turnovers and were able to turn Iowa State back and create some turnovers themselves. They had several three-and-outs that gave our offense great field position.

I am, however, most displeased with our penalties and lack of discipline. We have not been a team that has had many personal fouls or penalties this year, but we had a number of those the other day. They're very correctable and we will correct them.
