CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- Florida State picked the right time to
visit North Carolina.
Damous Anderson scored a career-high 25 points while Ron Hale scored 17, including the go-ahead basket at 1:06 left, as Florida State handed the No. 21 Tar Heels their fourth straight loss, 76-71 Saturday.

"It's never easy to win on the road, and this certainly is not a place where Florida State has not fared well in the past," Seminoles coach Steve Robinson said. "We've been demoralized here more than anything else since I've been at Florida State. This is a tough place to play."
This is the longest losing streak for the Tar Heels (11-8, 2-3 Atlantic Coast Conference) since a four-game skid in February 1992 that included a 110-96 loss at Florida State.
"Losing is contagious," North Carolina coach Bill Guthridge said. "We need to feel like we can win again. I know the players really want to get a win, and so do the coaches."
After Hale put the Seminoles up 70-68, Florida State (8-8, 3-2) made six straight free throws in the final 20 seconds.
Delvon Arrington added 12 points as the Seminoles won their first game in Chapel Hill since 1996. Florida State had lost five straight to the Tar Heels since a 84-71 win in 1997.
"We don't have superstars on this team. We just have a bunch of guys who play together hard," Robinson said. "Damous Anderson really stepped up his game. He's shooting well."
Brendan Haywood and Joseph Forte led the Tar Heels with 15 points apiece. Jason Capel added 14 points and four assists, while freshman reserve Jonathan Holmes provided five points and six assists in place of injured point guard Ed Cota.
North Carolina trailed 61-50 in the second half before rallying to tie the game at 68-68 on a Haywood tap-in with 1:25 to play.
Sparked by two baseline baskets by Forte, North Carolina mounted a 13-3 run in the last 4:52 to eventually pull even.
Florida State led 37-36 at halftime after Hale scored 13 and Anderson added 12.
Anderson hit his only two 3-point tries and then scored Florida State's last six points before halftime, rallying the Seminoles from a 34-31 deficit.
The NCAA's third most accurate team from the field, North Carolina shot 17-for-33 in the first half and enjoyed a 31-22 lead with 5:19 left in the period.
Florida State went 7-for-10 in the first half on 3-pointers, and shot 28-of-55 overall for the game.
"We don't win many games where the other team is that efficient," Guthridge said.
