VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) _ Mike Bibby had his best shooting game of the season, scoring 26 points and going 10-for-14 from the field as the Vancouver Grizzlies snapped a six-game losing streak by beating the Washington Wizards 118-104 Wednesday night.

The Wizards lost for the 11th time in 12 outings.

Bibby also dished out 12 assists as the Grizzlies won for only the fourth time in their last 19 outings with their highest point total of the season.

Washington, which was looking for only its second road win since Nov. 7, was led by 34 points from Juwan Howard.

Washington was able to score at will to open the contest, using an 24-12 edge in points in the paint in the first quarter to put together a 36-34 lead. Neither team appared particularly interested in playing defense early as the teams combined to hit on 18 of the first 24 shots.

Vancouver was more successful in forcing the Wizards outside in the second quarter and was equally productive in the paint. The result was a 64-57 Vancouver lead at halftime after the Grizzlies' most productive half this season.

Washington opened the third quarter with an 7-2 run to get back into the contest, but the Grizzlies closed out the period with a 16-6 run for a 90-79 edge.

Vancouver center Ike Austin, the key player acquired in a five-player trade in the off-season from Washington, only had four points for the Grizzlies. However Bryant Reeves continued to be productive for Vancouver, scoring 18 off the bench.

For Howard, the 34 points was a season-high.

Shareef Abdur-Rahim also scored 24 points for Vancouver.

Notes: Grizzlies forward Grant Long (sprained thumb) did not play and is listed as day-to-day. ... The crowd of 11,510 was the lowest at GM Place this season. ... Bibby's assist total marked the first time in four games he had led his team in that category. ... The Wizards continue their West Coast trip with a game in Seattle on Friday.
