DALLAS (AP) -- Michael Finley insists that games against his former team, the Phoenix Suns, are no longer a big deal.

That's not the way Finley played on Saturday night.

Finley had 33 points, a career-high 14 rebounds and 10 assists for his third career triple-double as the Mavericks ended a three-game losing streak with a 120-115 victory over the Suns.

Finley went to Dallas on Dec. 26, 1996, as part of a trade that sent Jason Kidd to Phoenix. Kidd just missed his first triple-double of the season Saturday night with 19 points, 13 rebounds and nine assists.

"Right after the trade, it (playing against the Suns) was a big deal," said Finley, who also had two steals. "Now it's about winning games. It doesn't matter if it's Phoenix, Chicago, Portland, whoever. Tonight it just happened to be Phoenix."

Robert Pack had 24 points and 11 assists and former Suns forward Cedric Ceballos added 22 points for Dallas, which had lost 26 of its previous 29 meetings with the Suns.

Dallas also got 19 points from Dirk Nowitzki and 17 off the bench from Hubert Davis.

Finley had all facets of his game working Saturday night en route to the second triple-double in his last seven games.

"My shot was falling early, I was getting rebound opportunities, I was getting the ball to my teammates in good scoring situations," Finley said. "Whatever it took for us to win."

Dallas rebounded from its worst performance of the season at Reunion Arena, a home loss to Vancouver on Tuesday night that broke the Grizzlies' 30-game road losing streak.

The Mavericks opened with 13 of their first 19 on the road, but Dallas opened a five-game homestand with Saturday night's win.

"We want to protect our home court," Nowitzki said. "We had a very bad defensive game against Vancouver. Tonight we did a much better job against a good team."

The Mavericks used their up-tempo offense to race to a 17-point second-quarter lead, and went on to lead by 22 early in the fourth quarter.

But the Suns rallied to get as close as 117-113 with 12.6 seconds left on Kidd's 3-pointer. But Pack converted two free throws with 12.2 seconds remaining to ice the game for the Mavericks.

Clifford Robinson's 28 points paced the Suns, who had won nine of their previous 11. Todd Day added 16 points and Rodney Rogers 15 for Phoenix.

Finley's 20 points and 10 rebounds in the first half helped the Mavericks build a 13-point halftime edge.

"Michael hurt us bad," Suns coach Danny Ainge said. "I think his eyes light up when he plays Phoenix sometimes. I thought we gave him too many baskets in transition. The basket got big and he was knocking down things from everywhere."

The Mavericks went on to a 36-point third quarter and were in front 93-73 entering the fourth quarter.

Dallas led by as many as 17 twice in the second quarter and held a 57-44 halftime edge. Phoenix missed 30 of its first 45 field goal attempts.

The Mavericks hope to get power forward Gary Trent back next week. Trent has yet to play a game this season because of a hamstring injury. ... Anfernee Hardaway of the Suns remains out with a right foot injury. ... Dallas' 36-point third quarter matched its highest-scoring quarter of the season.
