ATLANTA (AP) _ Alan Henderson scored 19 points, including eight in a row when the Hawks went ahead to stay in the third quarter, as Atlanta snapped a nine-game losing streak with a 104-101 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday night.

The Hawks almost blew a 10-point lead in the final two minutes. Cleveland had a chance to tie it with 8.4 seconds remaining, but Bob Sura missed the first of two free throws, then made the second to cut the lead to 102-101.

Sura then fouled Bimbo Coles on the inbounds pass and Coles hit both free throws with 7.6 seconds to play for the final margin. Sura's 3-point attempt from the top of the key hit high off the backboard, and LaPhonso Ellis secured the rebound for the Hawks as time expired.

Jimmy Jackson added 17 for the Hawks, including four 3-pointers, and Ellis, Dikembe Mutombo, Lorenzen Wright and Dion Glover added 12 points apiece. Mutombo, who fouled out with 1:47 remaining, had 18 rebounds _ four above his league-leading averaage.

It marked the first time in 10 games that the Hawks topped the 100-point mark. This was only their third victory in 19 games.

Shawn Kemp led the Cavaliers with 20 points, Sura added 18 and Lamond Murray had 16 points and 10 rebounds.

The Hawks overcame a 61-60 deficit when Henderson went on his eight-point spurt to make it 68-61 with 3:58 left in the third. Atlanta continued to stretch its lead and was up 91-76 on a basket by Coles with 8:08 remaining.

The Cavs then went on an 11-2 run in which Kemp had three points. Atlanta built its lead to 102-92 on a basket by Roshown McLeod with 1:56 to play before Kemp hit a basket and two free throws and Earl Boykins added two baskets to cut it to 102-100 with 32 seconds left _ just before Sura missed his chance to tie it. ^Notes: The victory improved Atlanta's home floor record to 20-20. ... The Hawks had a season-high 34-point third quarter. ... Atlanta's nine-game losing streak was its worst since the 1990-91 season. ... It was the fifth loss in the last six road games for Cleveland. ... It marked the 34th time in 89 games the Cavs have hit the 100-point mark. ... Cleveland has had 24 back-to-back games and has a 9-14 record on both the first night and the second.
