Traded to the Philadelphia Phillies from the San Francisco Giants for a player to be named later and cash on May 2, 1996.

1995
Opening day starter at First base for the Giants ... Appeared in 31 of the Giants first 32 games (29 starts) through May 29, was just 10-99 (.101, 4 HRs, 8 RBI) to begin the season ... Posted a .993 fielding percentage while committing only 4 errors in 576 total chances.

1994
Appeared in 15 games for the Giants ... Led Class AAA Phoenix in homers (27), RBI (79), extra-base hits (60), and slugging percentage (.631) ... Named to Pacific Coast League All-Star team ... Struck out once every 3.75 at-bats ... Matched his home run total from 1993 despite receiving 146 fewer at-bats ... Hit .132 in his 25-day stint with San Francisco ... Hit a torrid .349 after his return to the minors to boost his season average up to .300 ... Fractured his left forearm on Aug. 12 to end his season.
