DENVER (AP) -- Ryan Klesko was more impressed with the pitching he saw than his own hitting. And that was even after he hit a tying, solo homer in the ninth inning and a two-run shot in the 10th as the San Diego Padres beat the Colorado Rockies 6-4 Sunday. "I looked up and I don't think that I have seen one game played here where both pitchers were in the seventh inning in less than two hours, with only two hits," Klesko said. "I've never seen that. Usually if it's one pitcher, the other pitcher is getting pummeled." Klesko tied it with one out in the ninth after Neifi Perez gave Colorado a 3-2 lead with his eighth-inning homer. The Padres made it 4-3 in the ninth on a sacrifice fly by Ben Davis, but Trevor Hoffman (3-4) blew the save when he allowed a sacrifice fly to Brent Mayne in the bottom half. In the 10th, Eric Owens reached on an infield single with two outs before Klesko hit a 2-0 pitch from Stan Belinda (1-3) into the Colorado bullpen for his third hit of the game. It was Klesko's 21st homer of the season and 11th career multihomer game. "In both those situations, really, they needed to pitch to me," said Klesko, who is 37-for-105 with eight homers and 31 RBI in 27 games at Coors Field. "Because there was only one out and I got ahead in the count." Donne Wall earned his first save by pitching a scoreless 10th. "I was awful," said Colorado reliever Jose Jimenez, who allowed two runs, including Klesko's homer in the ninth. "The pitch to Klesko was right down the middle." Pedro Astacio took a no-hit bid into the seventh for Colorado before ending up with a no-decision. "Pedro pitched his heart out," Colorado manager Buddy Bell said. "He pitched great today, but we couldn't put them away and made two bad pitches to Klesko." Astacio retired the first 13 batters he faced before hitting Bret Boone with one out in the fifth inning. Astacio got out of the inning when Ruben Rivera grounded into a double play. Al Martin led off the Padres seventh by grounding a single into the hole between first and second. The Rockies scored an unearned run in the first inning, using a leadoff single by Brian L. Hunter, a passed ball, sacrifice bunt and a groundout to shortstop by Larry Walker to take a 1-0 lead. Brian Tollberg didn't allow another hit until Mayne doubled off the wall in right field with no outs in the fifth inning to score Jeffrey Hammonds, who had reached when shortstop Damian Jackson booted his ground ball for an error. Nevin threw out Mayne attempting to stretch the hit into a triple as the Rockies led 2-0. The Padres tied it in the eighth on an RBI double by Davis and an RBI infield single by pinch-hitter Dave Magadan.
