LAS VEGAS (AP) _ Paul Konerko homered twice and drove in four runs, and Frank Thomas also had four RBIs as the Chicago White Sox beat the Seattle Mariners 11-4 on Friday.

Konerko hit a two-run homer off Ryan Franklin to highlight a six-run sixth inning, then added a solo shot in the eighth off newly-appointed Seattle closer Kazuhiro Sasaki, giving him six homers this spring.

Thomas had a two-run double and two sacrifice flies and just missed a grand slam when strong winds, in excess of 50 mph throughout the game, kept his drive to left field in the park.

The White Sox, who entered the game with a big league-leading .329 team batting average, had 16 hits off five pitchers.

Mariners right-hander Brett Tomko made his third start of the spring and continued to struggle, allowing four runs and eight hits in four-plus innings.

Tomko, acquired from Cincinnati in the Ken Griffey Jr. trade, walked three as his ERA rose to 6.58.

Tanyon Sturtze started for the White Sox and pitched two hitless innings while striking out three. The winner was Bill Simas, who pitched 1 2-3 scoreless innings.

Notes: Both benches cleared in the sixth inning after Chicago's Ray Durham was hit by a Damaso Marte pitch. No punches were thrown and order was quickly restored. Marte and Mariners manager Lou Piniella were ejected. Earlier in the inning, Mariners pitcher Kevin Hodges was ejected after nearly hitting Carlos Lee in the head twice with pitches. Before Durham was hit, three Seattle batters were hit by pitches. ... Chicago's Jose Valentin went 4-for-4 with three doubles, two RBIs and two runs scored. ... Seattle's David Bell had two of his team's seven hits off seven pitchers.
