ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) _ Garret Anderson hit a two-run homer in the 10th inning as the Anaheim Angels beat San Diego 6-4 Friday night for their fourth straight victory. Tom Candiotti, the fifth Anaheim pitcher, earned the victory with an inning of one-hit relief. Tim Salmon doubled to left with one out in the 10th before Anderson drove a 2-2 pitch to center off Will Cunnane for his fifth spring homer. The Padres lost their fifth straight. Angels starter Scott Schoeneweis, who allowed four runs and seven hits over five innings, took a 2-1 lead into the third before giving up a pair of one-out walks and Phil Nevin's home run to right field. Nevin, who had only one RBI in 37 previous at-bats this spring, hit 24 homers last season for the Padres. The Angels traded him to San Diego six days before the season opener. Anaheim tied it at 4 in the bottom of the third with a two-run double by Scott Spiezio off Woody Williams, who allowed four runs and nine hits in six innings. Padres right fielder Tony Gwynn felt stiffness in his back and was scratched from the starting lineup for precautionary reasons. "I just want to stay healthy. That's all I'm concerned about," said the eight-time NL batting champ, who could move from 18th to 13th place on the career hit list if he gets at least 150 this season. "I'm past the stage of putting numbers down and thinking about doing this or that. I mean, how many batting titles can you win? How many times can you hit .300? How many times can you go to an All-Star Game? I've done all that. I just want to win. And if I stay healthy, that means I'll be out here trying to help my club win _ and everything should take care of itself." Notes: Anaheim closer Troy Percival will appear at his alma mater, Marino Valey High School, on Tuesday morning for a ceremony to retire his uniform No. 14. ... The Angels, in accordance with their 40th anniversary, have turned the outfield wall at Edison Field into a mural depicting the 14 members of the franchise's all-time team and former owner Gene Autry. ... The Angels play the Padres again on Saturday at San Diego and conclude their preseason schedule Sunday at Nevin's alma mater, Cal State Fullerton. Anaheim opens the season Monday night at home against the World Series champion Yankees.
