RECAP
TUCSON, Arizona (Ticker) -- Scott Karl pitched six strong innings and Terry Shumpert homered, lifting the Colorado Rockies to a 6-3 Cactus League victory over a split squad of Anaheim Angels. Acquired in an offseason trade from Milwaukee, Karl gave up an unearned run and five hits, walking none and striking out two. The lefthander has allowed just three earned runs over 19 innings this spring. Shumpert hit a solo homer in the second and added an RBI triple in the next frame, helping Colorado build a 5-0 advantage. Bidding for a spot in the Anaheim rotation, Derrick Turnbow lost for the first time in three decisions. He started and surrendered four runs and eight hits in three innings. No Angel had more than one hit.
