BOX SCORE
TUCSON, Arizona (Ticker) -- Carlos Lee and Magglio Ordonez both homered and the Chicago White Sox scored four times in the ninth inning before nearly blowing the lead in an 8-7 victory over the Colorado Rockies in a split-squad game. Lee and Ordonez stroked back-to-back homers with two outs in the first inning but starter James Baldwin could not hold the lead. Baldwin was touched for four runs -- all in the fourth -- and six hits in four innings. Lorenzo Barcelo struck out three in three scoreless innings and Chad Bradford threw a perfect eighth to pick up the win. But Bill Simas nearly gave up a four-run lead in the ninth, allowing three runs. Mike Lansing starred offensively for the Rockies, going 3-for-5 with four RBI. Stan Belinda gave up all four runs -- none earned -- in the ninth and took the loss. Lansing, the second baseman, and left fielder Angel Echevarria and third baseman Aaron Ledesma made errors in the ninth. Manny Aybar, acquired by Colorado from St. Louis, started and allowed two runs in four innings.
