Luke Skywalker
ESPN The Magazine

·Talked to a scout this weekend, who called BYU RB Luke Staley the nation's most underrated prospect. "The guy is so smooth, he doesn't look that fast, but he is," said the scout. "He can catch, make guys miss and has the speed to run wide. Next to (UCLA's DeShaun) Foster and maybe (Oregon's) Onterrio Smith, he's the most impressive back I've seen this year."

·You have to be impressed by Nate Hybl's toughness, but after watching Saturday's loss to Nebraska, you get the impression that soph QB Jason White, a much better runner and a capable passer, gives the Sooners their best hope at QB. Trouble is, White had to leave the NU game and might not be able to return this weekend against Tulsa. The Sooners should be fine against the young Hurricane, but if White's not back for Texas Tech, don't be surprised if the Red Raiders get in the way of an OU-NU rematch in the Big 12 title game.

·In the search for Navy's new football coach, keep an eye on Georgia Southern's Paul Johnson. A source says he is one of the names being discussed by Navy AD Chet Gladchuk.
