As the college basketball season approaches, there are a number of dynamic duos across the nation. These tandems can be electrifying in putting points on the board. Here's a look at some of the toughest combos to stop...

At North Carolina, think about Raymond Felton having the ball in his hands and Sean May down low (add Rashad McCants on the wing, and that's quite a threesome).

At Syracuse, Gerry McNamara has a gutsy, hard-nosed approach to the game and the desire to take the big shot. Couple him with Hakim Warrick, who has improved so much during his time with the Orange, and you have one of the premier tandems.

There's another dynamic inside-outside combination at Arizona: Salim Stoudamire and Channing Frye. Stoudamire can drill the trifecta and Frye is a shot-blocker deluxe. Coach Lute Olson feels that Stoudamire will be more consistent this season; he has shown moments of brilliance in the past. This could be a breakout year when Stoudamire becomes a star.

Georgia Tech has a dynamic duo, too, with Jarrett Jack in the backcourt and Luke Schenscher inside. Schenscher has gotten better and better (throw in B. J. Elder, and you have an explosive trio).

Kansas has Aaron Miles at the point and versatile Wayne Simien dominating inside (the Jayhawks also have Keith Langford, with his great driving ability and improved 3-point shooting).

Duke has trifecta sharpshooter J.J. Redick, an automatic on the foul line, and Shelden Williams, a super defender and Windex man. If Williams stays out of foul trouble, that's a lethal tandem.

There are many more dynamic duos: Louisville has an outstanding scoring tandem in Francisco Garcia and Taquan Dean ... Wake Forest has an explosive backcourt duo with Chris Paul and Justin Gray ... Michigan State has experience with Chris Hill shooting 3s and Paul Davis scoring on the baseline ... Connecticut may develop a duo with Rashad Anderson and Charlie Villanueva, now that Ben Gordon and Emeka Okafor are in the NBA (Josh Boone also figures in the Huskie mix this year) ... Keep an eye on Notre Dame's Chris Thomas at the point and Dennis Latimore or Torin Francis in the paint.

It will be exciting to watch these tandems this season, baby!
