STOCK UP: Louisville beats another No. 1
Louisville hoops -- Louisville knocked off a No. 1 team for the second time this season. First it was Florida. Saturday, it was coach Rick Pitino's former employer, Kentucky. There's nothing sweeter for Pitino, as the Cardinals rallied for a big 65-56 victory at Rupp Arena.

San Antonio Spurs -- The Spurs have won 13 straight games. Forward Tim Duncan is class personified as he leads the Spurs on this latest roll.

Jason Kidd -- Point guard Jason Kidd posted back-to-back triple doubles, and the New Jersey Nets are starting to warm up.

Jamal Crawford -- Bulls guard Jamal Crawford has really come to life lately. In his past two games, he's averaged 36 points per game. He scored 42 vs. Washington on Saturday night and 30 vs. Cleveland on Friday night.

New England Patriots, Philadelphia Eagles -- The Patriots and Eagles closed the regular season with impressive wins, each scoring 31 points. Coach Bill Belichick has done an amazing job -- New England is 14-1 in its past 15 games. Remember how the Pats opened the season, getting blown out by Buffalo? It's a different story now.

Priest Holmes -- Kansas City Chiefs running back Priest Holmes set an NFL single-season record for touchdowns.

QBs Philip Rivers, Timmy Chang -- Rivers and Chang posted a couple of great bowl passing performances: NC State's Rivers threw for 475 yards and five TDs against Kansas, while Hawaii's Chang was 26-of-42 for 475 yards and five touchdowns against Houston.

STOCK DOWN: Latrell Sprewell loses it
Latrell Sprewell -- Minnesota Timberwolves guard Latrell Sprewell, traded from the New York Knicks in the offseason, screamed at the Knicks bench and owner James Dolan during Minnesota's win at Madison Square Garden last week. The Knicks were willing to give Sprewell a chance when he came back from the choking incident with his former coach, P.J. Carlesimo, yet he goes bananas in New York.

Ron Artest, Rick Carlisle -- Indiana Pacers star Ron Artest and coach Rick Carlisle went at it Saturday night. Those are two flamboyant personalities. Artest has had his share of problems.

Missouri hoops -- Missouri has been struggling, losing close contests against Illinois and Memphis last week.

Houston, Hawaii football players -- Houston and Hawaii players fought at the end of their bowl game Christmas Day (Hawaii won 54-48). That was a nasty scene, with a few players swinging helmets.

Minnesota Vikings -- What happened to the Vikings? They opened the season 6-0 but finished 9-7 after losing Sunday to the lowly Arizona Cardinals. The Vikings blew a 17-6 fourth-quarter lead against the Cardinals, who scored the winning touchdown on the final play of the game and knocked coach Mike Tice's team out of the playoffs.
