ESPN.COM REMAINS CLEAR LEADER IN ONLINE SPORTS, ACCORDING TO LATEST MEDIA METRIX SURVEY

ESPN.com remains the worldwide leader in online sports, generating a record 7.9 million unique users in March, a 27% increase from March 2000, according to the March Media Metrix survey. The previous high was set in September 2000 with 7.5 million unique users. By comparison, the SportsLine.com sites generated 5.65 million unique users last month, while CNNSI.com had 2.956 million. ESPN.com is part of the Walt Disney Internet Group.

"March is a great month for sports with the NCAA Tournament and the return of baseball, and it's clear that ESPN.com is the first choice for fans time and time again," said John Skipper, senior vice president and general manager, ESPN Internet Group.

According to the March Media Metrix survey: · ESPN.com garnered more than 416 million page views, compared to 235 million for the SportsLine.com sites and 67.7 million for CNNSI.com;

· ESPN.com accounted for 57% of the page views generated in March by ESPN.com, the SportsLine.com sites, CNNSI.com and FoxSports.com;

· The site also remained the stickiest of the top sports producers, as users spent an average of 56.9 minutes per month on ESPN.com, compared to 45.8 minutes for the SportsLine.com sites and 30.1 minutes for CNNSI.com. ESPN.com, the leading sports Web site, is part of the Walt Disney Internet Group.
