EUGENE, Ore. (AP) -- Kourtney Shreve scored 15 points and reserve
Ndidi Unaka added 12 to spark Oregon (No. 17 ESPN/USA Today, No. 12 AP) to an 80-56 victory
over Portland Friday on night.
Unaka led the Oregon (3-0) reserves, who scored 38 points. The
reserve forward was 5-for-6 from the field and also had four
rebounds, three assists and five steals.
Tami Standish scored 20 points for the Pilots (2-1), who
committed 27 turnovers and made only 35.5 percent of their shots.
It was Portland's 10th straight loss at McArthur Court, while
Oregon won its 23rd consecutive game in its home-opener.
The Ducks shot 53 percent from the field but were also hampered
by 26 turnovers, six more than their season average of 20 coming
into the game.
Oregon opened the game by missing its first six shots before
Brianne Meharry made a layup at 16:32 to spark a 9-0 run as the
Ducks went up 9-3.
The Pilots scored four of the next five points to pull within
10-7, but Oregon went on a 16-0 run over the next seven minutes.
Portland went 0-for-9 from the field and turned the ball over eight
times during that span.
Unaka added nine of her points near the end of the first half as
Oregon took a 39-18 lead into the locker room.
Oregon's lead was never less than 16 in the second half (50-34),
when the Ducks closed out the game up by 24 points.
