No. 2 Oklahoma 33, Baylor 17
RECAP
IT WAS OVER WHEN... GAME BALL GOES TO... UP NEXT
Really, before it began. Yes, the Sooners were sluggish, but the Bears were never really in it as evidence by this one little stat -- Baylor was outgained 310-83 in the first half.Jason White. Making his first start as the Sooners' starting QB, White was impressive. He threw for 343 yards and a touchdown and rushed for another. His scrambling ability also saved his offensive line from the embarrassment of allowing double-digit sacks (although they did allow eight).Oct. 27 at Nebraska

IT WAS OVER WHEN... GAME BALL GOES TO... UP NEXT
When Oregon's Joey Harrington's Hail Mary pass flew out of the end zone. Stanford's Kerry Carter scored with 1:10 left and the Cardinal knew all about Harrington's "Captain Comeback" ability, but the defense forced four incompletions. The Stanford special teams. The Cardinal blocked two punts in the fourth quarter that led to touchdowns and keyed the comeback victory.Oct. 27 at Washington State

When quarterback Cory Paus and the rest of the Bruins realized that Cal was going to do everything it could to limit DeShaun Foster, and forget about the UCLA passing game.Cory Paus, who hit 13 of 16 passes for a season-high 273 yards, and three touchdowns. Boise State 35, No. 10 Fresno State 30 (Friday)
RECAP
IT WAS OVER WHEN... GAME BALL GOES TO... UP NEXT
Heisman hopeful QB David Carr fumbled as he was tackled trying to buy time on a fourth-and-4 from the Boise State 10-yard line with less than a minute to play. When the ball squirted out of his hands, so did Fresno's 17-game winning streak and its BCS hopes.Boise State QB Ryan Dinwiddie, who threw for 297 yards and four touchdowns. Honorable mention to first-year coach Dan Hawkins, who had his young Boise State team believing it could win in Fresno.Oct. 26 at Hawaii

No. 11 Tennessee 35, Alabama 24
RECAP
IT WAS OVER WHEN... GAME BALL GOES TO... UP NEXT
When the fourth quarter started. The Tide is developing a nasty habit of letting teams roll in the final quarter and Tennessee did just that. The Vols outgained Bama 156 to minus-3 and scored a pair of TDs to notch their 7th straight win over the Tide.Tennessee's Travis Stephens -- who is quietly having a great year -- rushed for 162 yards on 33 carries and two TDs, including the game-clincher on fourth-down with 1:27 left to play.Oct. 27 at South Carolina

Arizona took the late fourth quarter lead. Anyone who follows U-Dub -- the king of the comeback -- knows this is exactly where they wanted Arizona. Sure enough, Cody Pickett ran 3 yards for the winning touchdown with 13 seconds left.Pickett. Two weeks after separating his shoulder, Pickett returned to throw touchdown passes of 78 and 75 yards in the first quarter and finished 29-of-49 for a career-high 455 yards, with three touchdowns.Oct. 27 at Arizona State

No. 13 BYU 63, Air Force 33
RECAP
IT WAS OVER WHEN... GAME BALL GOES TO... UP NEXT
BYU jumped out to a 35-7 lead. The Cougar offense was nearly unstoppable and dropped the most points ever on Air Force. Until Saturday, the biggest rout in Air Force history was a 57-27 loss to Notre Dame in 1990.Nike really doesn't make enough balls for an effort like this, so we're just going to give one to Brandon Doman. Doman completed 20-of-32 passes for a season-high 338 yards and four touchdowns and also ran another TD.Oct. 27 at S.D. State

North Carolina 38, No. 15 Clemson 3
RECAP
IT WAS OVER WHEN... GAME BALL GOES TO... UP NEXT
For all intents and purposes when Julius Peppers tipped a Woodrow Dantzler pass and lunged for the remarkable interception. Yeah, the Tar Heels scored three plays later to go up 14-3, but more importantly, it showed the UNC defense was up to the challenge of stopping Dantzler. With all due respect to the two-headed QB that is Ronald Curry and Darian Durant, Peppers was the bomb. He had an interception, a sack and he was all over Dantzler all game. Maybe it's Peppers who should be on the Heisman list.Oct. 27 at Wake Forest
Series:
Clemson leads, 51-14-1
Last meeting: 2000
Clemson 55, Wake Forest 7

No. 16 South Carolina 46, Vanderbilt 14
RECAP
IT WAS OVER WHEN... GAME BALL GOES TO... UP NEXT
The minute after South Carolina lost to Arkansas last week. There was no way Lou Holtz would let his team come out flat against hapless Vanderbilt and it didn't, rolling up a school-record 656 yards total offense. The entire offense. Really...two running backs had over 100 yards. Two QBs each notched a couple of TDs. It takes a team effort to rack up 656 yards. Of course, playing Vandy helps.Oct. 27 vs. Tennessee

Tennessee leads, 15-2-2

Forgive the Cougars for underestimating their I-AA foe. This one didn't get ugly until the third quarter, when the Cougars took control and led 39-14 entering the fourth quarter.John Tippins, who rebounded from a first-quarter fumble that was returned by Montana State for touchdown and 7-0 lead, to score four TDs of his own in his first start in place of injured running backs Dave Minnich and Allen Thompson. Penn State 38, No. 20 Northwestern 35

Zack Mills hit Eric McCoo for the game-winning TD with 22 seconds left to play. Mills, who came in cold for the injured Matt Senneca, completed 5 of 8 passes for 54 yards and the TD.Joe Paterno. It's been a long time coming, No. 323, but Paterno has handled the run at Bear Bryant's record with class, never letting it get bigger than his team. Congrats, JoePa.Oct. 27 at Purdue

Auburn's Dontarrious Thomas intercepted a Luke McCown pass in overtime ending Louisiana Tech's chances of scoring to send the game into double-OT.Auburn QB Daniel Cobb was the hero, although he tried to be the goat. He threw four picks -- and nearly a fifth that could have been returned for a TD had it not been dropped -- but he also threw for 381 yards and 5 TDs.Oct. 27 at Arkansas
Series: Auburn leads, 6-3-1
Last meeting: 2000
Auburn 21, Arkansas 19

No. 22 Florida State 43, Virginia 6

Leading just 10-7 at halftime, William McCray scored on a 1-yard run and Abdual Howard returned a tipped passed 80 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter to get the Seminoles rolling. RECAP
IT WAS OVER WHEN... GAME BALL GOES TO... UP NEXT
Ball State's Corey Parchman returned a kickoff 100 yards with 3:07 left to give Ball State the upset. How impressive was Parchman's return? He did it without his contact lenses. Both lenses were knocked out when he was hit on the return, but Parchman said he could still see the yellow goalposts and ran for them. It worked.Oct. 27 vs. Navy

With Tech losing both its game in OT, this drive ate up clock and gave them some much needed breathing room.Georgia Tech QB was cool and efficient.
