BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (AP) _ Shaquille O'Neal and Devean George each scored 14 points to lead the Los Angeles Lakers to a 97-79 exhibition victory over the Miami Heat on Sunday at a sold-out Centennial Garden.

O'Neal had 12 rebounds, eight in the first quarter, as Los Angeles took a 26-20 lead. Derek Fisher scored 13 points, including consecutive 3-pointers, in the first quarter

The Lakers (3-2) opened the second quarter with a 10-4 run and led 53-36 at halftime.

Alonzo Mourning had 14 points and six rebounds for the Heat (2-3), who opened the second half with a 6-0 run as Jamal Mashburn scored four of his eight points.

The Heat pulled within 57-46 on a basket by Mourning, but the Lakers closed out the quarter with a 17-3 run.

A.C. Green had 10 points for the Lakers, while Voshon Lenard and Rodney Buford had 12 and 11, respectively, for Miami.

This was a makeup game for the Lakers. Their game on Oct. 12 against Washington in Little Rock, Ark., was canceled because of structural problems in the new Alltel Arena.

Tickets for all 9,411 seats in Bakersfield were sold in less than 90 minutes when they went on sale Thursday.
