INGLEWOOD, Calif. (AP) _ Rodney Rogers scored 31 points to lead the Phoenix Suns to a 112-100 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday night in the title game of the preseason Great Western Shootout.

Shawn Marion added 20 points as the Suns (3-2) went on a 19-11 run in the final six minutes of the first quarter to take a 29-26 lead, and never trailed again.

Shaquille O'Neal led all scorers with 37 points in the Lakers' farewell game in the Great Western Forum, which opened in 1967 and is being replaced by the downtown Staples Center.

The Lakers (2-2), who have four exhibitions remaining and will open the regular season on the road, will make their Staples Center debut on Nov. 3.

The Suns' balanced scoring featured four others in double figures, including Cliff Robinson with 13, Penny Hardaway and Toby Bailey with 12 each, and Gerald Brown with 10.

Recently-signed Ron Harper's role continued to grow in the Lakers' Triangle Offense. He contributed 14 points in 21 minutes Friday night.

In the third-place game, the Miami Heat beat the Golden State Warriors 92-82.

Lakers forward Robert Horry came off the bench for one minute in the second quarter before he sat back down with a sore left knee. He is day-to-day.
