CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -- Andrea Stinson's 33 points and Dawn Staley's 13 assists set team records as the Charlotte Sting beat the Washington Mystics 87-80 for their third consecutive victory.
Stinson made 11 of 16 field goals and 11 of 12 free throws,
falling one point shy of the WNBA season-high scoring mark.
Minnesota's Katie Smith scored 34 against Cleveland on May 31.

Stinson's previous career high was 29 points against New York on
July 9, 1997.
Reserve Charlotte Smith added 16 points, tying her career best,
and Rhonda Mapp had 15 points and six rebounds as Charlotte (7-18)
equaled its season-high points total.
Chamique Holdsclaw led the Mystics (11-14) with 21 points and
nine rebounds. Nikki McCray added 19 points, and Keisha Anderson
had a career-high 11 assists.
Washington held 29-26 lead late in the first half before Stinson
scored eight points in a 12-1 Sting run to give Charlotte its
largest lead of the half at 38-30.
The Sting was up 40-34 at halftime.
In the second half, the Mystics rallied to tie the game at 46-46
before Stinson once again propelled a run. The All-Star guard
scored eight of Charlotte's next 10 points as the Sting took the
lead for good en route to its fourth victory in five games.
