Washington had no answer for Griffith and Smith, the Monarchs' 6-foot-4 forwards who combined to shoot 18-of-25 from the field.

Smith did not miss a shot until less than 14 minutes remained.

Sacramento broke it open late in the first half when the Monarchs held Washington scoreless for 4:33. Katy Steding hit a pair of 3-pointers during Sacramento's 12-0 run that put the Monarchs ahead 32-27 with 3:33 left in the half.
