AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (AP) -- Astou Ndiaye-Diatta had 18 points and eight rebounds, helping the Detroit Shock to a 80-76 victory over the Indiana Fever on Friday night. The Shock (2-2) blew a 19-point first-half lead, but got the victory thanks to six players in double figures. Indiana (2-2) was led by Stephanie McCarty's 20 points and 16 from Rita Williams. Detroit appeared to have the game under control when it jumped out to a 36-17 lead midway through the first half. Indiana rallied, but the Shock still had a comfortable 49-36 margin at halftime, led by 11 points from Claudia Maria das Neves. The Fever scored the first 10 points of the second half -- five by Williams and four by Kara Wolters -- cutting Detroit's lead to three. Indiana then tied the game at 57 midway through the half on Williams' layup. Wendy Palmer scored the next four points for Detroit, but the Shock were unable to pull ahead comfortably. Indiana was successful throwing the ball in to Wolters, but Oksana Zakaulzhnaya came off the bench to slow her down, then hit two jumpers to put Detroit up 74-68 with three minutes left. Wolters fouled out shortly afterward, but McCarty's three-point play pulled the Fever within 78-75 with 1:13 left. Dominique Canty hit one of two free throws for the Shock, and after McCarty missed a 3-pointer, Ndiaye-Diatta clinched the game from the line. | ALSO SEE WNBA Scoreboard RECAPS Sacramento 77 New York 56
