LONDON -- Spain's Carlos Moya has withdrawn from this month's Wimbledon championships because of tendinitis in his right shoulder, tournament organizers said.

Moya, ranked 20th in the world, is the second Spaniard to pull out of the event this week after French Open champion Albert Costa, who misses the grasscourt grand slam because he will be on his honeymoon.

Wimbledon organisers confirmed that former world number one Gustavo Kuerten, recently recovered from hip surgery, would not be playing.

The Brazilian already said he would not be at the event after losing in the fourth round at Roland Garros earlier this month.
