LONDON -- Goran Ivanisevic of Croatia and Alexandra
Stevenson of the United States were the only non-British players
Tuesday to receive wild cards for singles at Wimbledon.
Ivanisevic was a Wimbledon runner-up in 1992, 1994 and 1998.
Stevenson was the first female qualifier to reach the semifinals in
1999.
One more wild card in men's singles is yet to be announced for
Wimbledon, which begins June 25.
The British players granted wild cards were: Lee Childs, Barry
Cowan, Jamie Delgado, Mark Hilton, Martin Lee and Arvind Parmar in
men's singles and Lucie Ahl, Elena Baltacha, Hannah Collin, Anne
Keothavong, Louise Latimer, Julie Pullin and Lorna Woodroffe in the
women's.
