RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil -- Brazil easily finished out its tie against Morocco winning 4-1 on Sunday. Gustavo Kuerten comfortably beat Mounir El
Aarej 6-2, 6-2, but Karim Alami gained some consolation for the Moroccans
with a 6-4, 0-6, 6-3 victory against Alexandre Simoni in the final
rubber.
Brazil will face Australia, who won their tie by the same margin. The Australians will travel to South America in April to face the Brazilians in a repeat of last year's semifinal in Brisbane, Australia.
Australia won that tie to reach the final against Spain but
are expecting a much tougher meeting this time round.
"Personally, I don't think it can get any worse than Spain,
but a few people have mentioned it could be a couple of times
worse," Australia's Lleyton Hewitt said.
"It will be interesting for us." | |
