MELBOURNE, Australia -- It's nice to see top singles players competing in doubles; it creates rivalries and fan interest. It's going to be a very exciting match. Three of the four players are also singles Grand Slam champions.
Serena and Venus Williams vs. Lindsay Davenport and Corina Morariu (7) Lindsay Davenport and Corina Morariu have more doubles experience. They won Wimbledon in 1999 and currently are playing a bit better. Whenever you watch the Williams sisters play together it's very exciting. They have a lot of power and seem to have a lot of fun out there. A lot in this match will depend on Venus and how she serves. She's been struggling with it, so if she can pick it up a bit that will help. Pick: Davenport and Morariu |
