FOXBORO, Mass. -- Eric Wynalda, the United States' career goal leader, was traded from the Miami Fusion to the New England Revolution on Saturday for midfielder Ivan McKinley.

"Eric's pedigree speaks for itself, having proven himself on the international stage," Revolution coach Fernando Clavijo said. "His acquisition is another step for us in our efforts to reach MLS Cup 2000."

Wynalda, 31, has 33 goals in 102 games for the U.S. national team. He had a goal and an assist in six games this season for the Fusion and has 24 goals and 31 assists in his MLS career.

The Revolution also received future considerations in the deal.

"Ever since MLS started I've wanted to go to Boston," Wynalda said. "I'm happy that things finally worked out for me in order to play in New England."

McKinley, 31, had a goal and an assist in 12 starts for the Revolution this season.
