CHICAGO (AP) _ Eric Wynalda scored two goals and Peter Nowak added a goal and an assist as the Chicago Fire beat the Tampa Bay Mutiny 3-1 on Saturday.

Central Division-leading Chicago (12-5-4) extended its home unbeaten streak to six games, and has lost only once this season at Soldier Field.

John Maessner scored for the Mutiny (4-16-1), who have won just twice in their last 19 matches and have allowed an MLS-worst 2.4 goals a game.

Wynalda has five goals in three games against Tampa this season as Chicago swept the season series 4-0.

The Mutiny opened the scoring on Maessner's goal in the 17th minute.

Wynalda tied it on a penalty kick during first-half stoppage time, and made it 2-1 on a header in the 50th minute. He has nine goals this season. Nowak added his fifth goal in 71st minute.
