Donovan: 2 goals, 2 assists

FOXBORO, Mass. (AP) -- Landon Donovan had two goals and two assists as the San Jose Earthquakes beat the New England Revolution 5-1 Wednesday night.

Junior Agogo added two goals for San Jose (11-5-5), which three scored second-half goals.

The Revolution (6-11-5) played a man down for the final 52 minutes.

Donovan opened the scoring in the 35th minute when he took a long pass from Zak Ibsen, split a pair of defenders, and beat Jeff Causey from 10 yards.

Four minutes later, Donovan scored on a penalty kick after Wright handled a ball in the Revolution area. Wright was ejected.

The Revolution scored in the 44th minute. After Leonel Alvarez was taken down in the area, Cate scored his fifth penalty kick of the season.

San Jose controlled nearly the entire second half. Agogo scored in the 68th and 80th minutes, and Manny Lagos scored in the 71st.

Both teams had players ejected in the 90th minute. San Jose's Ramiro Corrales was sent off for elbowing, and Cate was ejected for retaliating.
