TAMPA, Fla. (AP) _ Mamadou Diallo had two goals as the Tampa Bay
Mutiny took over sole possession of first-place in Major League
Soccer's Central Division with a 3-1 victory over the Dallas Burn
Saturday.
Diallo scored the go-ahead goal in the 84th minute. He beat
Dallas' Brandon Pollard to a pass from Carlos Valderama, put a move
on the Burn defender and scored from 12-yards out.
Valderama had three assists, and Kevin Anderson scored in the
90th minute for the Mutiny.
Tampa Bay is 5-0 at home, outscoring their opponents 17-4. Jason
Kreis, who has seven goals in 12 games against Tampa Bay, scored
for Dallas.
The Burn are 0-3 on the road, getting outscored 10-2. Dallas
forward Ariel Graziani received a red card from referee Noel Kenny
in the 66th minute for elbowing Mutiny defender Steve Trittschuh.
Kreis' fourth goal of the season put the Burn up 1-0 in the 14th
minute. Tampa Bay tied it at 1-1 in the 45th minute when Diallo
picked up his fourth goal.
The injury-depleted Burn had defender Richard Farrer (back)
return after sitting out two games.
Dallas midfielders Jorge Rodriguez (World Cup qualifer) and
Sergi Daniv (rib), along with defenders Mark Santel (left
quadriceps) and Eric Dade (back) did not play.
Mutiny Forward Raul Diaz Arce, who has nine goals against
Dallas, joined Rodriguez in missing the contest to play for El
Salvador in Sunday's World Cup qualifer against Guatemala.
Tampa Bay defender Chad McCarty returned after missing four
games because of a United States National Team commitment.
