PASADENA, Calif. (AP) -- Greg Vanney hit a third-minute penalty kick and Danny Pena also scored as the Los Angeles Galaxy topped the Miami Fusion 2-0 Saturday night to remain undefeated.

Goalkeeper Kevin Hartman needed to make only two saves before 16,885 at the Rose Bowl as the Galaxy improved to 4-0-2.

Miami (1-2-3) was shut out for the fourth consecutive game. Its 405-minute scoreless streak is the second longest in Major League Soccer's five-year history, behind Colorado's 562-minute drought from the end of the last season into the current one.

Referee Tim Weyland awarded the penalty kick after ruling Fusion defender Jay Heaps held Clint Mathis in the penalty area on a corner kick. Vanney put the kick just inside the left post for his second goal.

Pena scored his first of the season in the 55th minute, when Mauricio Cienfuegos' corner kick went off Miami midfielder Brian Kamler.

Los Angeles had a 10-2 edge in shots on goal, and Fusion goalkeeper Garth Lagerwey made seven saves in his season debut. Lagerwey played for starter Jeff Cassar, who had right quadriceps and right groin injuries.

Before Saturday, Cassar led MLS with a 0.56 goals-against average.
